21:25 | Mood: cold

Sat on my bed with dye in my hair waiting as long as I can for it to 'soak in'. Yeah I know that's not exactly how dye works but I like to leave my dye (it's semi permanent... don't worry) in as long as I can before washing it out.
Had a good week, had a greatttt meeting at work (who'd of thought!) which took a load off my mind. I'm gonna be getting some support in the form of redeployed assistants for one of our huge inventory tasks!! Yay! It won't be for another few months but I'm so pleased. *happy dance*

I joined a few more fanlistings. So far I've joined 35 out of my goal of 100. I don't know why I made it a goal, I just think it'd be a neat round number. Plus I like how they all look together, like a quilt! Maybe I'll separate them into categories later on in the year.

Short entry today. Maybe I'll blog more next week.

23:05 | Mood: Tired

Whew. What a week, it's been very busy at work and quite stressful... I'm glad it's the weekend. I stayed extra long today trying to finish packing up some art for shipping on Tuesday, but I think we'll end up having to ship part of it separately as I couldn't realistically get it ready in time. It got a bit late and realised that it was gonna take me at least another couple hours to finish packing up stuff, and I didn't want to do a half assed job at it, so I'd rather pack them properly next week and ship them later. Hey, at least I'll be finishing work a little earlier on Tuesday.

Spent this evening working on a quilt, hugging my cat, and a bit of tidying. Not sure what the rest of my night will look like, hoping to get some knitting done!

I'm trying to take better care of my skin and hair lately. I'm using body lotion in the evening, and applying O'Keefe's healthy feet cream on my feet (duh), a layer of Vasline on top, and finally a putting on pair of fluffy socks to stop getting the vaseline everywhere. So far my feet have been feeling softer, I think I need to wait a little longer before seeing results on the rest of my body.
I'm trying to be more consistent with my facial skincare routine too - that hasn't changed from the norm. I'm going to do my roots next weekend, and have a haircut booked on the 1st May. I'm trying a new salon, hoping that they can transform my hair so it's something I enjoy styling. I have wavy hair but have had no luck with styling it, or where to start. I don't like using products with silicones in, and I hate having that 'product' feel on my hair. Maybe a mousse is something I could try? Hm. I'll ask the stylist at the salon... she might have some advice.

21:55 | Mood: good!

Actually had a really good couple days at work, I'm off for two days now but I'm happy at what I accomplished. I completely redid a tracking system we have for logging drawer hires, and got the sales for the last financial year through - so we can see exactly how much we've sold of everything. Or not sold at all!
I finished a sleeve for this cardigan I'm knitting, and I've done the first 7 or so rows of the next sleeve. I'm using Sirdar's Jewelspun with Wool Chunky in the shade "Mother of Pearl", it's not my usual colour choice for cardigans but I think it'd be great to wear with light jeans or perhaps with a solid colour dress. I'm not one for fashion or making lookbooks so take my ideas with a pinch of salt.

17:41 | Mood: melancholic

Got back from my holiday away yesterday - it was lovely. It was great to spend time walking around a new city, visiting the tourist spots, taking pictures and eating lots of food. The mystery city I went to was Pristina, in Kosovo! It wasn't a place I would usually visit, but I'm glad I went and I gained another stamp in my passport in the process.

I was crazy productive last night and this morning. I emptied the suitcase, did laundry, changed the bedsheets, tidied, folded the dry laundry, did another load of laundry, vacuumed the floors, mopped, cleaned the windows, and spent some time quilting. And then hung up the laundry to dry and did another load. Wheee.

This week off work has been really nice, don't get me wrong, I'm kinda tired (probably from doing so much housework and travelling) but I feel refreshed and ready to go back to work. Sometimes you need to drop the hot potato and let it cool off, or at least wait til your hands have healed a bit.

You know, that ice block analogy I used yesterday really rung true for me. I'm chipping away at things, and the sculptures are starting to appear, but a lot of the ice blocks resolved themselves or weren't as big as I thought they were. Sure, I'm gonna have to pick up the chisel and hammer again tomorrow, but they don't seem as daunting.

Want to get a few more tasks ticked off my list today, including taking a walk to the glass recycling bins, doing some zine work, some odds and ends. I'm kinda tired thoughhhh, so I might have a nap first. peace
